Greater Sturgis is best known for hosting Little Sturgis, a motorcycle rally each July. Last year’s event drew nearly 16,000 bikers to Union County, and this year’s 17th annual event (July 16-19) could surpass that mark with Black Stone Cherry headlining its Saturday night concert. Beyond that, Sturgis’ suburb of Sullivan lays claim to Rigdon’s Trackside BBQ, a cozy little haunt at the intersection of U.S. 60 and Ky. 141.

In addition to the traditional chicken, pork and mutton that make up most of western Kentucky’s barbecue, Trackside, which is open Thursday through Sunday in the summer months, is the only one that boasts “custom deer cooking.”
